I’m sure you’ve heard the word Branding. Maybe you’ve wondered what it is or if it matters to your non- or not-for-profit? To put it simply, Branding is your non-profit’s first impression.
Its what the community, your Consumers, potential donors, volunteers, etc. see, think, believe when they encounter your organization. Your brand can include your logo, tagline, colors, website, marketing materials, the way your office looks, the way your staff provides service and more.
The key takeaway here is whether you’ve formally Branded your organization or not, you’ve already got a brand – just like every person has a first impression that they present to others. The question you need to ask yourself is, are they getting the right first impression of your organization? If you have any doubt about the answer, then you need to work on your branding.
